Two of my Timbers “fan” type shots (one is a print on the wall the other is being used on the web) got accepted into an Art Gallery show in Krakow, Poland for a show this September.
The images were selected with help from World Press Photographer, Tomasz Wiech.
I’m told the Gallery is rather modest but classy.
“2 Worlds” Gallery”
The show is being sponsored with financial aid by the Football Supporters Europe.
I’m one of 30 contributors from around the world. The show is about different aspects of fandom with the topic being “Fandom As An Universal Language”.
I’m the only Photographer from the United States involved in the show.
A book of all the images is also being produced.
Photo Exhibition “Support as a Universal Language” – Krakow
The photo exhibition “Support as a Universal Language” promoting international fan culture will take place in Krakow in September this year. The project will be featured by a multi-media show and a round table about fan culture with representatives from the Football Supporters Europe (FSE) network, sociologists and local authorities. The framework programme starts on 9 September, the exhibition on 11 September and it will be shown over a period of 2 weeks. The aim of the exhibition is to show the variety and the creativity of positive choreographies and supporter initiatives all around the world. From Argentine to Indonesia, fans have a different social status, occupation, age, sex, religion, but the passion for their clubs unites them.
