AIA Architectural Photo Workshop

Union Station, originally uploaded by Steven D. Lenhart.

I spent yesterday afternoon in an Architectural Photo Tour through The Pearl District. The workshop was hosted by Portland Photographer Lincoln Barbour as part of the AIA 2009 Architecture & Design Festival taking place all of October here in Portland, OR.

Pro Photo Supply donated the use of the Canon wide angle tilt-shift lens I took this photo with.

Old Photo

This is a photo I took a long, long time ago with actual 35mm film! I also processed and printed it in a darkroom. (ha!) Although this is not a top notch scan on my part I thought it still would be of interest to post.

Research and Ideas

24 10 2008

This weekend I have the opportunity to team up with a real estate agent in SE Portland for some interior shots of homes that are on the market. It sounds like these homes are either going to be vacant or lightly decorated. My thought is to capture the open areas where the natural light and artificial mix. When I first enter these homes I will be looking to see how the light interacts with the “form” of the different rooms. I hope to create shots that tell a story about the physical nature of the home and less about the items that are placed in the home.
