Local Talent

In my photography bookmarks on my computer I have a section for “Photographers” and one for “Northwest Photographers”. I categorize the NW as extending from British Columbia to San Francisco, so it’s quite broad in scope. In this post I want to concentrate on Photographers who are based out of Portland, Oregon. By The Side Of The Road

One of my favorite sites is the Amy Stein Photography blog. She is a photographer and teacher (Parsons New School For Design) in New York City. One of her projects that I have been following is a series called Stranded, where she drives across America and photographs stranded motorists on the side of the road.

Finding Inspiration

I have a passion for keeping journals and filling them with random thoughts, sketches and other creative things that I think of or find.  In my latest notebook I have been making sure I write down names of photographers that I have been coming across lately.

One is a very cool Hip-Hop Underground photographer that I have been digging on as of late. He goes by the name of B+. I have run into his work several times in the past year on the XLR8R Music & Culture website and in Wax Poetics Magazine.
