AIA Architectural Photo Workshop

Union Station, originally uploaded by Steven D. Lenhart.

I spent yesterday afternoon in an Architectural Photo Tour through The Pearl District. The workshop was hosted by Portland Photographer Lincoln Barbour as part of the AIA 2009 Architecture & Design Festival taking place all of October here in Portland, OR.

Pro Photo Supply donated the use of the Canon wide angle tilt-shift lens I took this photo with.

Friends Of Trees

Friends Of Trees, originally uploaded by pdxnevets.

I thought this was a great editorial shot I got yesterday.

The Friends of Trees planted over 200 trees in the Boise, Eliot, Humboldt, King, Piedmont, and Sabin Neighborhood’s yesterday. The morning started off at 9am with snow flurry’s while drinking coffee and eating bagels at the Friends of Trees HQ on MLK.

I was in Group O and we planted 12 trees.

Around 1pm when all the groups were finished planting everyone was treated to pizza, sandwiches, soup and a fresh keg of local micro brew from the Widmer Brewery.

Local Talent

In my photography bookmarks on my computer I have a section for “Photographers” and one for “Northwest Photographers”. I categorize the NW as extending from British Columbia to San Francisco, so it’s quite broad in scope. In this post I want to concentrate on Photographers who are based out of Portland, Oregon. Below are links to some great local talent. These are just some of the many Portland photographers that I have found to be inspiring. Please explore these sites and please let me know of some local photographers that you find interesting.
